On 17th July 2025, I had the privilege of accompanying Mr. John Guy, Curator of South and Southeast Asian Art at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, during his visit to The Asiatic Society in Kolkata. Together, we explored the Museum Section and engaged closely with the Society’s extraordinary collection of manuscripts, written in diverse languages and scripts. It was a meaningful experience to witness how these treasures of knowledge and heritage continue to inspire scholarship and dialogue across cultures.
